How wedding vendors can collect testimonials
A practical testimonial collection playbook for wedding vendors: when to ask, five questions, display ideas and a request message.
The right moment
A few weeks after the event, when the couple has time to respond.
Five questions worth asking
- What part of the day did we help with?
- How was planning communication?
- Did the setup match your expectations?
- What detail stood out?
- What would you tell another couple booking this service?
Use one question as your wall prompt rather than making every question a mandatory field.
Where to show the answer
Wedding service pages and enquiry forms.
A request you can adapt
Hi {name}, thank you for your wedding celebration. Would you share a few honest words about your experience? What part of the day did we help with? If you are comfortable with us publishing it, here is our short form: {collection_link}. No pressure, and thank you either way.Permission and fair presentation
Ask both people before using names or photos that identify them. Avoid revealing event dates or locations without permission.
Follow the FTC Endorsement Guides and EU Unfair Commercial Practices rules where applicable: no fake reviews, and disclose incentives or material connections. Do not condition rewards on positive feedback. Request explicit permission, keep the original meaning and make removal straightforward.
